A WELCOME NOTE FROM BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

INSTITUTE FOR STANDARDS, METEROLOGY AND INTELLECTUAL PROPETRY

Bosnia and Herzegovina Government have decided to access to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and to associate to the European Union. In order to meet its targets Bosnia and Herzegovina has obliged to become a member of the Unions, Conventions and Treaties in the Intellectual Property field.

CARDS IPR Project launched by the European Commission will help to all institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are in charge for intellectual property protection and enforcement, to support in the harmonizing of IP laws in compliance with the WTO requirement and with the EU Directives (Acquis communautaire) and effectively protection holders of intellectual property rights at national level.

Realization of CARDS IPR Project will contribute to archived specific objectives such as adequate educated staff for implementing administrative procedures before the Institute for Standards, Metrology and Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina in respect acquisition and protection of Industrial Property Rights and Copyright and Related Rights issues, judicial authorities, establishing system for dissemination of information on the Intellectual Property System and general building of IP awareness in the country.
