10-11 March 2005: Seminar on Copyright and Related Rights, Belgrade

The CARDS Regional Seminar on Copyright and Related Rights is taking place in Belgrade today and tomorrow under the EC-funded CARDS Regional Programme on Intellectual Property Rights  implemented by the European Patent Office.

Opening the meeting, Prof. Slobodan Markovic, Director of the Intellectual Property Office of Serbia and Montenegro, welcomed representatives from the European Patent Office (EPO Munich), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, Geneva), the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI, Brussels), the Business Software Alliance (BSA, London) and the delegations of the five countries participating in the CARDS Programme.

The seminar will focus on digital rights management, its impact on the media market and the latest developments in terms of EU policy. The CARDS Regional IPR Programme is putting on this event as a means of promoting regional co-operation and helping the private sector to integrate intellectual property into its business approach in the international market.
