Seminar AW10/PU: Geographical Indications

The EU framework for protection of geographical indications was presented on this seminar. This included geographical indications for wines, spirits and other products (agricultural and not), role of inspection structures, some elements for a model of GI applications, industry experience, etc.

Seminar AW7/OH: Trade Mark Filling-CTM

On the course of the inception phase, the CARDS offices have stressed the importance of rapidly increasing the awareness on trade mark issues among the regional interested IP circles according with the EU standards and particularly with the OHIM’s state of art practice. The aim of this workshop is to bring representative from each CARDS participating country to gather to discuss and exchange views on the methods, procedures, and practices that the OHIM undertakes to filling and registering trade marks.

The seminar introduces the best practices in the field of criminal and civil enforcement of IP rights. Moreover it will define the specific role of business in this process. The seminar will provide participants with various anti counterfeiting strategies: Investigative techniques; drafting a "process verbal prosecution", hearing witnesses, defending the case in Court.
