The EU framework for protection of geographical indications was presented on this seminar. This included geographical indications for wines, spirits and other products (agricultural and not), role of inspection structures, some elements for a model of GI applications, industry experience, etc. Seminar lectures were from DG AGRI - Mrs. Efthymia Korodima, Douro and Port Wines Institute - Mr. Alberto Ribeiro de Almeida, Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano-Reggiano - Mr. Leo Bertozzi. More than 140 participants attended the seminar. They represented Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science, producers of typical Macedonian products, Customs, Chamber of Commerce etc.
