CARDS Regional IPR Project

EF1/PU: Operational seminar on the role of customs in combating counterfeiting and piracy, 4-7 October 2005 – Zagreb, Croatia

This event was organised jointly with the EC Directorate-General for Taxation and the Customs Union (DGTAXaxUD) and the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia, with the participation of WIPO, IFPI and customs representatives of the CARDS region. The event was attended by representatives of the following companies which protect their trade marks: Nike, Panasonic, Adidas, Lacoste, and others.

The seminar was an opportunity for customs professionals to exchange experience over the past year and discuss the development of IPR in their region. The operational part of the seminar centred on three different areas: land borders, sea ports and airports.
